To pair with a strong overall score, we gave this place a grade of A+ for our inspection category. Inspection scores weigh several factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. This place was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This means that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to pose an imminent risk to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility was awarded a top-shelf grade of A in our long-term care category. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care tend to provide consistent around the clock care to ensure residents are well cared for. Although we determined this facility had an impressive quantity of nursing hours provided by nurses and other nursing staff, we found its vaccination rate to be somewhat lower than we expected. This nursing home gave the pneumonia vaccine to just 83.67347 percent of its residents. This is one statistic we'd love to see this nursing home improve on. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, we were pleased to find facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

This particular facility provided 4.2 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis, which was among the highest figures we found. Lastly, this facility also excelled in several of the quality measures we assessed. With fewer than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility California in this category.

Switching gears to the final area, this facility received an extremely favorable short-term care grade. While this was not quite as dominant as some of its other scores, this remains one of the stronger grades a facility can receive. Our short-term care ratings are crucial for residents requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires more skilled nursing services. This means a wide range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
