Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
Although we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable short-term care score. We gave it a respectable grade of B in this area, which was much better than its overall score. In crafting these short-term care ratings, we assess the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our goal is to formulate a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. It does not look like this facility provided data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing rating. In fact, nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that category, we gave this facility a grade of B-. Nursing ratings are tied to quantity of nursing care available. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this place performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is generally an indicator that a nursing home has quality controls in place.

Facility Inspections
This nursing home earned slightly below average inspections in recent years. We awarded them a C in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection scores. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be relatively insignificant. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies on its government inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were in categories J through L. This indicates that inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to put resident safety or health in imminent harm or jeopardy. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received some government fines in recent years.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to the next category, this facility did not fare well in this category either. With a poor grade of F in long-term care, this is really as bad as it gets. Facilities that receive this type of score in this category likely don't provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities provide. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We found that this facility provided the vaccine to just 64.39394 percent of its residents, which is somewhat concerning. To our surprise, this facility actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
