Facility Inspections

Grade: A+

In addition to performing well overall, this facility received nearly flawless government inspections. Consequently, it received one of our best grades in that category with a grade of A+. Inspection ratings are based on many datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that receive favorable grades in this category have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate information on deficiency's for this nursing home. We would like to have more information about this facility. Without deficiency related data, it was difficult to fully assess it in terms of this category.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In that category, we gave this nursing home an B+. When computing our nursing ratings, we look at both staffing levels and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility Arkansas in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as having a policy of moving residents at least once a day.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility received an impressive short-term care grade as well. We awarded it one of our higher scores in that area with a grade of B+. Our short-term care scores are probably most important for individuals needing rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not merely nursing services, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other types of therapy. We were not able to track down information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The last datapoint we looked at in this category is the number of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The last area we scored is long-term care, in which this facility was awarded a grade of B-. Even though this turned out to be its poorest category score, this is nevertheless not a bad grade. Our long-term care ratings are based in part on the facility's amount of nursing services. This includes a vast range of personal care services, ranging from help with activities of daily living to routine medical services. One of the criteria we considered after nurse's aid hours was vaccines. It doesn't appear that this facility provided information about vaccinations. Finally, this place was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
