Facility Inspections

Grade: A

To pair with its favorable overall grade, we awarded this facility an A for our inspections rating. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection grades. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these are quite insignificant. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This tells you that the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Contributing to its profile, this nursing home also received a grade of B+ for its long-term care rating. This is a well above average score in this area. When facilities receive this type of grade in this category it is usually a good sign for resident care and indicates that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses aids. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents, which is significantly higher than the majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

This nursing home was awarded an impressive short-term care score as well. We gave it one of our higher scores in that category with a grade of B. Our short-term care grade is commonly employed to judge a facility's performance with rehabilitation In order to offer high-end rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must feature higher levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly trained professionals. Unfortunately, we weren't able to track down information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The last measure we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home.
