Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility excelled in our nursing rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. There are several subcategories included in this grade. Many of the datapoints reflect staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Adding to this nursing home's impressive resume, we awarded this nursing home an A for inspections. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher grades in this category most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Unfortunately, we were not able to track down deficiency data for this facility. We wish we had more data for this nursing home. Without having access to all of the deficiency data, it ended up being challenging to really evaluate the place in terms of this category.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

The next category we assessed is short-term care. Adding to its dominant profile, this facility also performed well in that area. In fact, it received a of A- in the category. With our short-term care assessment, we strive to forge a fair gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's scope of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The last category we rated turned out to be this nursing home's weakest category. Nevertheless, even its weakest link would be a strength for many facilities. We gave it a strong grade of B for our long-term care category. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care typically provide residents with better supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 98.34025 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients healthy. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
