Facility Inspections
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with better grades in this category most likely dodged the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This place was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies an immediate risk to patient health or safety. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.
Nurse Quality
To complement its strong performance in other categories, we gave this facility an B for our nursing rating. Our nursing grade assesses the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We factor in both the levels of skill of those nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as having a system of moving a patient at least once a day.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility was given a strong short-term care grade as well. We gave it one of our better grades in that area with a grade of B. In the area of short-term care, we attempt to evaluate indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last measure we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 4.8 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we rated was long-term care, where this nursing home was awarded a B-. Although this proved to be its poorest category grade, this is nevertheless not a bad grade. Long-term care grades are often used to judge a facility's performance as a traditional nursing home, as opposed to focusing more on the skilled nursing services offered by a rehabilitation facility. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 93.22034 percent of its patients. This is a bit below what we expected but still a reasonably acceptable figure. On a more positive note, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
