Contributing to its remarkable assessment, this facility also was given a strong short-term care score, with a score of A-. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a wide scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, this nursing home offers both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities offer both. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home, which as an area this facility performed much more favorably. This place outperformed the vast majority of nursing homes in the country with 58.9 percent of its patients returning home. This is a significantly higher rate than most nursing homes.
Nurse Quality
In our final area, we gave this facility an A+ for its nursing rating. This completed a very impressive profile. The nursing grade includes many data points, however, the paramount consideration is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home offers high levels of nursing care, with an average of 4 hours per patient on a daily basis. This is more nursing care than most nursing homes provide. Finally, this place also performed well in several of the quality-based metrics we assessed. For example, in terms of the number of its patients suffering falls leading to serious injury, this nursing home performed as well as any nursing home in the state. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
