Grade: A

On top of receiving a strong overall score, this nursing home also received excellent health inspections recently. We awarded it one of our highest grades in that category, with an A. Our inspection scores are based on several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Grade: A

This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, this turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A. Our nursing rating assesses the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We factor in both the levels of skill of those nurses as well as the amount of time spent with patients. This facility provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by having a protocol of moving residents at least once a day.

This facility vaccinated 98.79518 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is significantly higher than most nursing homes. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

In calculating our short-term care scores, we size up a facility's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other types of therapists.
