Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

On top of faring well overall, this nursing home earned a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it earned one of our highest grades in that category with a grade of A+. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its long-term care grade. Long-term care grades in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. After considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is significantly higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A. There are a number of datapoints included in this area. Most of the datapoints relate to levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can typically be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Switching gears to the last category, this facility also performed admirably in our short-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that area. This wrapped up truly elite report card. Our short-term care grades are believed to be more critical for patients needing rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation typically requires additional skilled nursing services. This includes not just nursing services, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final measure we assessed in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that 5.8 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
