Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

On top of receiving an elite overall rating, this facility earned an A+ inspection rating. This is based on its recent government inspections. An A+ in this category is one of the best complements we can pay to a facility. These inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

An additional quality feature for this facility is that it received a very positive short-term care grade. Indeed, this wound up being its second best category score. In this area, we gave this facility a grade of B+. Our short-term care grades are thought to be most meaningful for patients in need of a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional skilled nursing. This includes not just nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final metric we looked at in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that 5.8 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The next category we analyzed was long-term care. This facility was given an above average long-term care score, with a grade of B in this area. When nursing homes receive a grade in this range in this category it typically means it's well-staffed and is a quality place to reside on a permanent basis. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 99.1573 percent of its residents, which is much higher than the majority of nursing homes. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

The final category we graded is nursing. In this category, we gave this nursing home a solid grade of C. This actually was this facility's weakest category. In calculating our nursing scores, we look at both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This particular nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This figure is significantly below average. Finally, our nursing ratings also factor in quality-based metrics, such as preventing major falls. While this facility didn't have as many nursing hours per resident as many other facilities we looked at, it was still better than average in the area of preventing major falls.
