Grade: A

To go along with its decent overall grade, we awarded this nursing home an A for its inspection grade. This score is far more impressive than its overall grade. Our inspection ratings are tied to many items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this area have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this facility had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

We also gave this facility a favorable grade in short-term care. This facility earned a grade of B in this area, which turns out to be one of our more favorable scores. In determining our short-term care grades, we size up the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. This rating is often a useful measure of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. It doesn't look like this facility provided information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

This facility's next highest category ended up being its long-term care grade, where it received a grade of B-. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. In addition to assessing the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia.
