Facility Inspections
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. Inspection ratings account for several factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with better grades in this category generally have few of these severe deficiencies. This place was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This means that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home truly excelled in the category of long-term care, where we gave it a grade of A. Only a select group of facilities performed more favorably in this category. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each facility's long-term care scores. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 93.60465 percent of its residents. This is somewhat lower than we were hoping for but still a respectable percentage. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality
Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B. In calculating our nursing grades, we assess both staffing levels and the training levels of the nurses. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to the final category, this facility was given a respectable short-term care rating. While this isn't quite as strong as a few of its other scores, this is really not the end of the world. In the area of short-term care, we strive to assess measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last item we assessed in this area is the number of patients who eventually returned home from the facility. We found that just 3.4 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
