In addition to a phenomenal overall grade, this facility also received A+ nursing grade. Nursing grades are based in large part on quantity of nursing care available. This facility provided 4.7 hours of nursing care per patient per day, which is among the higher totals in the country. A significant percentage of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which are one of the most highly skilled levels of nurses. We are very impressed by these statistics. On top of offering impressive levels of nursing care, this place also excelled in the quality measures we assessed. For example, it performed as well as any nursing home in the country in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these areas as predictive indicators of the caliber of nursing care being provided.
Facility Inspections
In addition, this nursing home also earned a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that area with an A. Our inspection grades are tied to several datapoints located in the a nursing home's inspections. Nursing homes that excel in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This facility was assessed 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies an imminent threat to resident health or safety. Remember that deficiency-free inspections are rare in the industry.

The final area we scored was long-term care, where this nursing home was awarded a grade of B. Although this proved to be its weakest category score, this is nevertheless a favorable score. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care typically are well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to residents. After looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 94.85294 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is more than the majority of nursing homes. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
