Registered Staff Hours
Long-term Care Quality
We would like to point out that this place's long-term care grade exceeded its overall score. This facility earned a grade of B+ in this area. Facilities that do well in this category tend to be well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to residents. After assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents healthy. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Facility Inspections
This facility also excelled in inspections, where it earned an B+. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite minor. While this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. A few minor dings aren't the end of the world.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home's nursing grade appears to be one of its better features. The facility received a grade of B- in this category. The nursing score assesses many subcategories, many of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Lastly, our nursing ratings also factor in quality-based assessments, such as preventing major falls. Despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this nursing home performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is often an indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place. Many falls can be avoided if a facility provides enough nurses to assist its residents.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we assessed is short-term care. We awarded this nursing home a C in this area. Our short-term care grades are based in part on the facility's quantity of skilled nursing services. This means a broad scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this facility submitted information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.2 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.
