While this facility's overall score was as bad as it gets, it performed well in the category of inspections. In fact, we awarded it a B for that category, which is one of our better scores. This is its best feature in this category.

The next area we assessed was short-term care. This facility's received a poor short-term care score where it received an F. In the category of short-term care, we seek to evaluate indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. As you might expect, we discovered that this place provides significantly less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the typical facility. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents that eventually returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.

The next category we looked at was nursing, in which this nursing home received a very poor score here also. We gave it a lowly F in this area, which is definitely a major disappointment. In determining our nursing ratings, we factor in both staffing levels and the training levels of the nurses. This facility offered a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is well below average. This facility also had terrible marks in some of the quality-based metrics to go along with its low nursing hours. For starters, we looked at the percent of patients sustaining pressure ulcers. This facility was at more than twice the national average in this statistic.
