Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a great facility overall, it also earned A+ government inspections recently. Its inspections were nearly perfect. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are relatively minor. This facility was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered severe. This indicates that the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to create an immediate threat to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

Another reason we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. When calculating our nursing scores, we assess both nursing hours and the training levels of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.8 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In the next category we assessed, this nursing home was given high marks in the area of long-term care. For this reason, it received one of our highest grades in that category with a of A+. When nursing homes receive this kind of score in long-term care it is a good sign for patient care and suggests that the place is well-staffed with nurses aids. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 98.78049 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents healthy. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Moving on to our fourth category, this nursing home also excelled in the short-term care category. We awarded it an A for this area. This topped off truly elite report card. Our short-term care grade is often used to measure a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. In order to offer highly rated rehabilitation services, facilities generally must have better levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last metric we considered in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
