Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
This facility excelled in our nursing category, where it earned an D. Our nursing rating is mostly based on a nursing home's nurse staffing. This place provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing grades. This facility performed well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these datapoints to be good measures of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its short-term care score. Our short-term care ratings are critical for prospective residents looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires more highly-skilled nursing services. This means a broad range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. With a grade in this range for this category, we weren't stunned to discover this nursing home was well below average in multiple staffing metrics we looked at. The nursing home supplied substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most nursing homes. The final measure we considered in this area is the number of residents who who were able to eventually return home from the facility. This facility struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 4.1 percent of its residents returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we scored is long-term care. This nursing home received a very poor grade of F in that category. Facilities that don't fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. One of the data points we considered on top of nurse's aid hours was vaccinations. Candidly, we were a bit alarmed this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to only 42.440804 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
