While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. Inspection ratings are based on pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these inspections. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to resident safety. This place was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This indicates that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies an imminent risk to patient health or safety. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.

Despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is generally a reliable indicator that a nursing home has sufficient quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a facility supplies enough nurses to assist its patients.

As it turns out, this facility only received a D for its short-term care rating, which is not one of our better scores. Short-term care grades are commonly employed to gauge a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation To provide highly scored rehabilitation services, facilities generally must feature better levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. With its score in this area, we weren't stunned to learn that this nursing home is well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the figures we looked at. Honestly, this was what we expected here. The last metric we considered in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 4.2 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar statistics was damning for this nursing home's short-term care grade.

The final area we assessed is long-term care, in which this nursing home was given an abysmal grade here also. Sadly, it received an F in this area, which is definitely very concerning. For patients seeking a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care grades are very important. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Fortunately, this nursing home gave the vaccine to 99.21671 percent of its residents, which is a very respectable statistic. Surprisingly, this nursing home also keeps its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
