Facility Inspections
To pair with its favorable overall grade, we awarded this place an A+ for our inspection category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection grades. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some end up being quite insignificant. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we were able to find information on deficiency's for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home performed well in the category of long-term care. Indeed, we gave it a grade of A for that area, which turns out to be one of our most dominant scores. Facilities that receive this kind of score in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are kept in good health. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 96.42857 percent of its patients, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia sadly is often a deadly condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a facility doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home's next highest area came in the area of short-term care. In that area, we awarded this facility a B-. With our short-term care rating, we try to create a sound gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze the nursing home's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. It doesn't look like this facility submitted registered nurse or physical therapist staffing data. Lastly, we considered the number of patients who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. We found that 5.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was actually well below the national average.
Nurse Quality
The next category we looked at was nursing, where this nursing home was awarded a C. Even though this ended up being its worst category score, this is nevertheless a middle of the pack score. We weighed the levels of nurses working for the facility, in addition to the quantity of time the nurses spent with residents, in calculating our grade in this category. This particular nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This figure is far below the national average. Lastly, we look at quality-based statistics, such as the percentage of patients who suffered pressure ulcers and major falls. Sometimes these data points are measures of the quality of nursing care.
