Sadly, we did not have any favorable things to say about this facility's overall grade or its other ratings. Its best category is the area of inspections. Nevertheless, with a D in this category, it still performed relatively badly. One of the more critical factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We recommend you pay close attention to the level of severity of those deficiencies. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, we would like to point out that this place was assessed significant government fines recently totaling over $100,000. This usually suggests that a facility's bad performance spanned several years.

Nurse Quality

We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's poor nursing grade where it received an F. Our nursing score is largely based on a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

Another concern was the F this nursing home received in the category of short-term care. In our short-term care category, we seek to create a fair gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Based on its poor rating in this category, we were not stunned to learn that this facility provides substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most nursing homes. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 4.5 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

The next category we scored was long-term care, in which this facility received a very poor grade in this area as well. We gave it an abysmal F for this category, which is obviously very concerning. Facilities that do not fare well in this category typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Candidly, we were a bit worried that this facility vaccinated just 80.918724 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this place was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
