Facility Inspections
Although we didn't grade this facility favorably overall, we did give it an excellent score in the category of inspections, where it earned an A. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection scores. One critical factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be relatively insignificant. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Despite this deficiency, this place still had a relatively positive inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded its second best category score in the area of short-term care. We awarded this facility a C in this category, which is a decent grade. Our short-term care scores are meaningful for patients in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a broad spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.7 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, we gave this facility an F for its long-term care grade. Facilities that don't fare well in long-term care typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated only 82.47423 percent of its patients, which is somewhat concerning. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best feature in this category.
Nurse Quality
The last area we scored was nursing. This facility received a bottom of the barrel grade of F in this area. In computing our nursing scores, we analyze both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. To pair with its subpar totals in the area of nursing hours per patient, this nursing home also did not fare as well in the quality-based measures we looked at in calculating our nursing scores. We looked at the percent of patients experiencing pressure ulcers and major falls. This facility had more falls and pressure ulcers than the average facility.
