To go along with its great overall score, we awarded this facility an A for our inspections rating. Our inspection ratings are based on several items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this category have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
We also would like to alert you to the fact that this nursing home was awarded a strong grade of A in our short-term care category. In calculating our short-term care grades, we look at the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This grade is typically a reliable measure of the facility's rehabilitation. This nursing home elevated its grade in this category by offering more care from registered nurses to its residents than the average facility. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return home from this facility. It outperformed the vast majority of facilities in the country in this area with 57.1 percent of its residents returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on our next area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our long-term care rating. This is a superb grade. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent around the clock care to ensure patients are well cared for. On top of considering the elite level of care provided by nurses and other staff at this nursing home, we also were pleased by the facility's record for vaccinations. By way of example, this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 99.73404 percent of its residents, which is an impressive figure. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.88 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
