Facility Inspections
In addition to faring well overall, this facility received nearly flawless government inspections. Consequently, it received one of our best scores in that area with an A+. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with better scores in this area typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. We weren't able to track down information about this nursing home's deficiencies. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility also received an A+ long-term care grade, rendering it one of the few nursing homes to receive several A+ category scores. If you are looking for anything other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care ratings. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 88.59649 percent of its patients. This is somewhat lower than we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, at least this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also performed well in the category of short-term care, where it received a grade of A. Few nursing homes fared better in this area. In forming these short-term care scores, we quantify the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our purpose is to formulate a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.5 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Nurse Quality
In the final category we graded, this facility was awarded a very strong grade of A- in our nursing category. With this grade, the facility rounded out a straight A profile. We looked at the qualifications of nurses working for the facility, in addition to the quantity of time the nurses were with patients, in determining our score in this category. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also factored a few quality measures into our nursing grades. This nursing home was relatively weak in two of the major areas we focus on, with below average scores for minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. These areas are generally reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care provided.
