Facility Inspections
One of the reasons this place turned out to be a great nursing home is it earned an A+ inspection grade. This is as good as it gets in this category. Our inspection ratings are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this area tend to have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This place was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS didn't consider any of these deficiencies to pose an immediate risk to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
Contributing to its strong profile, this facility also performed well in our long-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a score of A- in that category. When facilities receive a score in this range in long-term care it generally means it has plenty of staff and is an overall good place to reside on a permanent basis. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 98.36066 percent of its residents, which is much higher than the average nursing home. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the third area, this nursing home also earned a score of B+ for its short-term care rating. This is a well above average score in this area. In our short-term care category, we seek to craft a fair barometer for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the nursing home's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. It does not look like this facility provided information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. The last datapoint we looked at in this area is the number of patients who returned home from the nursing home. We found that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Nurse Quality
The last area we looked at is nursing. In this category, we awarded this nursing home a solid grade of B-. This turned out to be this facility's least impressive category. Our nursing grade consists of quite a few factors, many of which are tied to quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides only 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is a somewhat alarming figure as it is well below the national average. Lastly, our nursing ratings also factor in quality-based measures, such as preventing major falls. While this place didn't have as many nursing hours per resident as many of the other facilities we looked at, it was still better than average in the area of preventing major falls.
