Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a grade of C for our nursing rating. Our nursing score includes several components, many of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is often an indicator that a nursing home has sufficient quality controls in place.
Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, this nursing home received really poor inspection reports in recent years, causing us to give them an F for inspections. An F in this category is usually a signal that we found some major red flags on the facility's government inspection reports. When a facility has this poor of an inspection score, you should look for severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to the well being of residents. This particular nursing home was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only positive thing we can say is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they posed a risk to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility also received 8 substantiated complaints in recent years. This is yet another bad sign.

Long-term Care Quality
The next category we analyzed was long-term care. This facility's received a bottom of the barrel long-term care grade where it received a lowly F. Nursing homes that do not score well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we looked at. One of the statistics we considered after nursing hours was vaccinations. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to a relatively low 74.68355 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
Switching gears to the last category, this facility didn't fare very well in this area either. Due to a very poor grade of F in short-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. In our short-term care rating, we strive to forge a valuable gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Given its abysmal rating in this area, we were not surprised to find this place provides substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 4.7 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
