Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that we were able to find information on deficiency's for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

To add to its dominant performance in other areas, we gave this nursing home a grade of A for its long-term care grade. Facilities that do well in this category typically are well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to residents. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 99.53488 percent of its patients, which is far higher than the majority of nursing homes. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Turning to an additional strength for this facility, we awarded them one of our more positive grades in our short-term care category as well, with a grade of B+. In calculating our short-term care grades, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The purpose is to create a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the number of residents that ultimately returned home from this nursing home. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

The next category we graded was nursing. In this category, we gave this facility an impressive grade of B. In calculating a facility's nursing rating, we look at the amount of time nurses are seeing residents and the skill levels of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also factored a few quality-based metrics into our nursing grades. This facility was relatively weak in two of the major areas we focus on, with below average scores for minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. These areas are generally reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care provided.
