Facility Inspections

Grade: B-minus

Although we did not have many positive things to say about this facility's overall grade, it earned a somewhat respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent score in this area with a score of B-. Inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home's second best category came in the area of short-term care. In that area, we awarded this facility a C. Our short-term care grades are crucial for residents seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates more skilled nursing services. This includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, this place was below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. The last datapoint we assessed in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 4.8 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is actually below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home actually received a decent grade in the area of nursing as well. We awarded it a grade of C for that category, which is not a bad score. Our nursing grade analyzes quite a few datapoints, many of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This figure is far below average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility surprisingly excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. It performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care. In many cases, the quality of nursing care is just as important as the quantity of hours of care provided.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The final category we looked at was long-term care. This nursing home was awarded a C for the category. In determining our long-term care ratings, we quantify the nursing home's ability to maintain its permanent residents' health and quality of life. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 98.283264 percent of its residents. This facility also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
