Inspection scores are tied to several datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this area tend to have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This nursing home vaccinated 99.65753 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is far higher than most nursing homes. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. This first-rate facility also excelled in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of A+. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. Nursing ratings are based in large part on quality and quantity of nursing care. This particular nursing home provided 4.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day, which was among the highest totals we found. Lastly, this place also excelled in several of the quality measures we assessed. With fewer than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the state in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we looked at was short-term care. This nursing home received an above average short-term care score in our assessment, with a grade of B-. Even though this was not as elite as several of its other scores, this remains a respectable score in this area. Short-term care grades are commonly used to gauge a nursing home's rehabilitation services. To provide highly rated rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to have higher levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. This nursing home elevated its grade in this category by offering more care from registered nurses to its residents than the average facility. The last statistic we looked at in this category is the number of patients who returned home from the facility. We found that just 10.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. Unfortunately, this was below average.
