Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home also received an A+ in short-term care. In our short-term care category, we endeavor to forge a sound barometer for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess the nursing home's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of patients that returned home from this nursing home. We found that 5.8 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
Facility Inspections
This nursing home also excelled in the area of inspections. We awarded it an A for that category, which is one of our highest scores. This is one of the few facilities with an overall score in this range which earned multiple category grades this high. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing our inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are quite minor. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. This is really what you like to see in this important metric.

Nurse Quality
This facility really excelled in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of A-. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. In computing our nursing ratings, we factor in both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our next area, we gave this nursing home a grade of D for our long-term care category. This is the nursing home's worst category score. However, we wouldn't dwell on a single bad score. Facilities that don't fare well in this category typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine medical care we assessed. One of the criteria we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to just 85.61151 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
