Short-term Care Quality
This facility excelled in our short-term care category, with an A- in this area. Our short-term care scores are probably more meaningful for patients in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation usually utilizes more skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not only nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to track down information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final measure we considered in this area is the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 6.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
Facility Inspections
We also want to emphasize this facility's nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave them an impressive grade of B+ in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be quite minor. This place received 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This indicates that the government inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies to be an immediate threat to resident safety or health. We should note that deficiency-free inspections are rare in the industry.

Nurse Quality
An additional reason we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received an A+ nursing score. Our nursing grade weighs quite a few datapoints, but the primary consideration is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to our next area, this facility really didn't perform well. Due to a bottom of the barrel grade of F in long-term care, this was this facility's poorest category grade. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids. Once we concluded our assessment of the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination record. We were a bit worried that this facility vaccinated just 80.7377 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best score in this category.
