One of the many reasons this turned out to be a quality nursing home is that it received an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with better scores in this area most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. It doesn't look like we have deficiency data for this facility. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

In addition, this facility was given superb marks in the category of long-term care. For this reason, it received one of our highest scores in that area with a score of A+. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are well cared for. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia can be a life threatening ailment for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Our nursing rating assesses several subcategories, however, the primary one is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

The final area we analyzed is short-term care, where this facility was given a B+. This completed an elite profile. Only a select few nursing homes earned a B+ or higher in each of our categories. Our short-term care grade is commonly employed to gauge a facility's performance with rehabilitation. To offer good rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to have higher levels of highly skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly trained professionals. It doesn't appear that this facility provided data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing.
