Inspection ratings are based on several items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that receive favorable grades in this area typically have few deficiencies on those reports. Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A-. Nursing scores are primarily associated with the nursing home's nurse staffing. This place provided 4.4 hours of nursing care per patient daily, which is among the higher figures in the country. A significant percentage of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which are one of the most skilled levels of nurses. We are very impressed by these figures. On top of offering high levels of nursing care, this place also performed well in several of the quality measures we looked at. In terms of the number of its residents suffering falls leading to major injury, this nursing home performed as well as any facility California.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we analyzed is short-term care. Contributing to its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in this area. In fact, we gave it a of A- in that category. With our short-term care rating, we strive to forge a meaningful measure for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. One of this nursing home's strength is that it offers more hours of care from registered nurses to its residents. The last datapoint we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that it fared as well as just about any nursing home in California in this area with 56.7 percent of its patients returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we scored is long-term care. In this category, we gave this nursing home an impressive grade of B. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care tend to provide consistent around the clock care to ensure patients are well cared for. After we finished assessing the amount of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 96.78456 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly can be a life or death ailment for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home doesn't take any chances. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 1.67 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes.
