Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. We would argue that one of the most important factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially look at the severity of those deficiencies. This place was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were in any of the categories labeled G through L. This means inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to present an imminent danger to patient safety or health. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Long-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this nursing home's second best category is long-term care. As it turns out, with a D in this category, it still fared somewhat poorly. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine healthcare services we looked at. After assessing the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home vaccinated 84.71338 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which happens to be significantly below what we were hoping for. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This is its best score in this category.

Nurse Quality
This facility's next best category was nursing, but even there it received a grade of just D. This is still a well below average grade. The nursing score weighs a number of datapoints. The most heavily weighted factor is the quantity of hours nurses spent with residents. This place provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This figure is far below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing scores. This nursing home performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
The last category we rated was short-term care. We gave it an F for this category, which is a very poor score. Our short-term care grade is typically employed to judge a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. In order to provide quality rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must provide better levels of highly skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. With a grade of this caliber in this area, we weren't surprised to find this facility was well below average in many staffing metrics we focus on. It provided far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The final metric we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 3.9 percent of its residents returning home. This was quite a bit below average.
