Facility Inspections
While we did not rate this nursing home favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable government inspections in recent years. We gave it a respectable grade of B+ in this area, which is much better than its overall score. These inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
As it turns out, this facility only earned a D for its short-term care score, which happens to be one of its better category grades. In the category of short-term care, we seek to assess indicators of a facility's rehabilitation. We analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Considering its poor grade in this category, we weren't surprised to discover this nursing home provides significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients that were able to return home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.

Nurse Quality
Turning to the area of nursing care, this facility received a grade of just D in this category. When calculating a facility's nursing grade, we assess the quantity of hours nurses spend with patients as well as the level of licensure of the nurses. This place averaged just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is well below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This place performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we rated is long-term care. It received an abysmal F in this area, which is a bottom of the barrel grade. Nursing homes that don't score well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be lagging in a few of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. One of the statistics we considered on top of nurse's aid hours is vaccines. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 92.46575 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
