Long-term Care Quality
On top of being a first rate nursing home overall, this facility also performed well in our long-term care category, where it received an impressive grade of A+. Few facilities performed better in this category. Long-term care grades in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. One of the datapoints we considered after nursing hours was vaccines. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 98.14242 percent of its residents. This is a proven method to minimize unnecessary deaths for the nursing home population. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Facility Inspections
This facility also earned an A+ inspection score, making it one of the rare places to receive multiple A+'s in our category grades. This grade is based on the facility's recent inspections. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be quite minor. While this nursing home had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our fourth category, this facility was awarded a very strong short-term care grade. In fact, we gave it an A in this category, rounding out a straight A profile. Our short-term care grade is typically used to assess a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. To provide highly rated rehabilitation services, facilities generally must offer better levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final metric we considered in this area is the percentage of patients that were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
