Registered Staff Hours
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this facility a grade of A for our inspections rating. Our inspection ratings are tied to several datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this area tend to have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This means that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
To add to its high-end performance in other areas, we gave this facility a grade of A for its long-term care score. For residents in need of a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 93.359375 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which happens to be somewhat below what we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
Short-term Care Quality
In the final category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for its short-term care grade. This completed a first-rate report card. In the category of short-term care, we strive to assess indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
