Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to faring well overall, this facility earned nearly flawless government inspections. As a result, it earned one of our best grades in that category with an A+. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had a few minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Contributing to its superb profile, this facility also performed well in our long-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A in the category. Facilities that excel in long-term care typically provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 96.62447 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is better than the majority of nursing homes. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Turning to our third area, this nursing home also received a grade of B+ for its short-term care rating. This is a well above average score in this area. Our short-term care grades are meaningful for prospective residents requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires more skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means a vast scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last metric we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients that ultimately returned home from the facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the last category we assessed, this facility was given a very strong grade of B+ in our nursing category. With this grade, the nursing home topped off an elite report card. There are quite a few subcategories within this grade. Many of these factors reflect levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
