Nurse Quality

Grade: B

This nursing home received a nursing score which is stronger than its overall grade. We awarded this nursing home an above average grade of B in this area. There are quite a few criteria included in this grade. Most of these datapoints are tied to nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

We also awarded this nursing home an impressive grade in short-term care. This nursing home earned a grade of B in this category, which is one of our higher scores. In the category of short-term care, we attempt to evaluate measures of a facility's rehabilitation. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. We were not able to track down information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. The last item we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This nursing home also was awarded an impressive long-term care score. Indeed, we awarded them a B in that area, which happens to be one of our more favorable scores. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in long-term care it typically means it's well-staffed and is a quality place to reside on a permanent basis. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 96.20253 percent of its residents. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Facility Inspections

Grade: F

Turning our last category of inspections, this facility received a horrible grade. Unfortunately, with an F in the inspection category, this facility's overall grade was adversely affected. When a nursing home has this poor of an inspection score, you should look for severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to the well being of residents. This particular facility was hit with one category G through L deficiency, which are among the more severe categories of deficiencies. This generally indicates that the deficiencies identified by inspectors had the potential to pose actual harm to residents. Lastly, we would like to point out that this place was assessed significant government fines recently amounting to more than $100,000. This often indicates that a poor performance spanned several years.
