Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this nursing home highly overall, we want to draw your attention to its excellent health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A in this category. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. It is typically in your best interest to avoid nursing homes that have a long list of severe deficiencies. We weren't able to locate deficiency data for this nursing home. Without having deficiency data for this nursing home, it ended up being difficult to really evaluate the place in this area.
Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this nursing home's second most respectable category was long-term care. As it turns out, with a D in this area, it still performed relatively poorly. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category often do not provide as much nursing care and also may be lagging in a few of the areas of routine medical care we looked at. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 92.72152 percent of its residents. This is a bit lower than we anticipated but still a respectable percentage. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.

Nurse Quality
In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of nursing care. The nursing category consists of several components, most of which are based on nursing hours. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing ratings. This place fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we looked at was short-term care, in which this facility received a very poor grade here also. Sadly, it received an F in this area, which is definitely a major disappointment. Our short-term care ratings are believed to be more meaningful for people in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally utilizes higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means not only nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. With its grade in this area, we were not stunned to learn that this nursing home was well below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the metrics we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected here. The last item we assessed in this category is the number of residents who eventually returned home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 3.6 percent of its patients returning home.
