Nurse Quality
One of the many reasons this turned out to be a great nursing home is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. In calculating our nursing grades, we analyze both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the skill levels of those nurses. This facility provided 7.7 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This was one of the highest figures we found. Furthermore, we found that a significant percentage of this care was provided by registered nurses, which are highly skilled nurses. Both of these statistics are impressive. On top of providing impressive levels of care, this facility also excelled in the quality-based metrics we looked at. It performed as well as any nursing home in the state in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility also received an A+ long-term care grade, making it one of the few facilities to be awarded several A+ category grades. When nursing homes receive a grade in this range in this category it typically means it's well-staffed and is an overall good place to reside on a permanent basis. Once we concluded our assessment of the amount of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 94.64286 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia tragically can be a dangerous health condition for nursing home patients so we prefer when a nursing home does not leave this to chance. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
Facility Inspections
Continuing with its amazing performance, this nursing home also received an A+ inspection rating. This is based on its recent inspection reports. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This place received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This means that the inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies an imminent risk to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
In the final category we graded, this facility was given a very strong grade of A- in our short-term care category. With this score, the nursing home completed a straight A report card. Our short-term care scores are based on a facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. When we assessed this facility's nursing hours, we found it offered substantially more care from registered nurses than most nursing homes. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
