Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the area of short-term care, this facility was given a grade of just D in that area. In our short-term care assessment, we seek to forge a meaningful barometer for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at a facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. With a grade of this caliber for this category, we weren't stunned to learn this place was well below average in many staffing metrics we focus on. In fact, it offered significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most nursing homes. Finally, we looked at the number of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.2 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.
