Facility Inspections
Sadly, we didn't have any good things to write about this place's overall grade or its other ratings. Its best category is the area of inspections. However, with a D in this category, it still performed relatively badly. Our inspection ratings account for several factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. This particular facility had 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we found is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they posed a risk to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home wound up receiving a an abysmal score in our long-term care category. It was given an F in this category. Facilities that receive this type of grade in long-term care may not provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities offer. After we finished looking at the amount of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. We were a bit concerned this facility vaccinated only 77.65766 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This was its best score in this category.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home ended up receiving a rock-bottom score in our short-term care area. It received a lowly F in this category. Our short-term care ratings are presumably more meaningful for residents in need of a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not only nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. This definitely was not a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, around half of their residents are able to return home so this is well below average.
Nurse Quality
Switching gears to our next area, this nursing home really didn't perform very well in this area either. Due to a rock bottom grade of F in nursing, this is just about as terrible as it gets. Nursing grades are based in large part on quantity of nursing care available. This facility averaged just 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is not a very impressive figure. On top of receiving below average marks for nursing hours, this nursing home was a bit less impressive in some of the quality-based measures we looked at in determining our nursing ratings. We looked at the percentage of residents sustaining pressure ulcers and found that this nursing home was at approximately 150 percent of the national average in this statistic.
