Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
In addition to receiving a poor overall grade, we also gave this facility weak grades in the various categories. In fact, it received a D for its short-term care grade, which was its best category. In crafting our short-term care scores, we quantify the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our goal is to devise a measure for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. As you might expect, we found that this facility provides substantially less registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than a typical nursing home. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 5.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. Nursing scores are primarily associated with a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home offered just 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is not a very impressive figure. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing grades. This place fared well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections
We wanted to note that this facility received a lowly F for its inspection grade. An F in this category is particularly troublesome because it usually points to red flags on the nursing home's inspections. For facilities with bad inspection scores, you should really focus on any severe deficiencies found on their inspection reports. This particular facility was hit with 8 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they caused a threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to our final area, this facility really did not perform very well in this category either. With a rock bottom grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in long-term care likely don't provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities provide. One of the criteria we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. We were a bit alarmed this facility administered the pneumonia vaccine to just 50.904392 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
