Facility Inspections
While we gave this nursing home a poor overall grade, we gave it a somewhat respectable score in the category of inspections, where it received a grade of B-. This was certainly better than its other categories. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.
Nurse Quality
We also awarded this facility a grade of B- for our nursing rating. Our nursing score looks at the facility's nurse staffing levels. We weigh both the levels of licensure of those nurses and the number of hours spent with residents. This place provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is a lower figure than we were hoping for. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place surprisingly excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it scored well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded its third best category grade in the area of short-term care. We gave this nursing home a grade of B- in this category, which is a decent grade. Our short-term care ratings are arguably most meaningful for folks in need of a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates more skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not merely nursing services, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. In this nursing home's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than the average facility. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 5.4 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was actually quite a bit below the national average.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to the fourth area, this facility was given a respectable long-term care score of B-. Our long-term care grades are based on a facility's amount of nursing services. This includes a broad scope of personal care services, ranging from assistance with activities of daily living to routine medical services. Once we finished looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination records. We were pleased to learn that this nursing home vaccinates 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Finally, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
