To go along with its decent overall grade, we gave this nursing home an A- for our inspections rating. This is far better than its overall grade. This nursing home was assessed 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to be an immediate threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

We also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that this facility was awarded a great long-term care score. In fact, we awarded it one of our most favorable scores in that area with a score of A-. Facilities that receive this kind of score in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are well cared for. After assessing the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 66.38656 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which happens to be slightly less than we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable figure. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, at least this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Next, we looked at the nursing category where we awarded this nursing home a grade of C, which is a decent grade. There are several factors within this category. Many of the datapoints reflect nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Lastly, our nursing scores also consider quality-based measures, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this place performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a facility has quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a nursing home provides enough nurses to assist its residents.

The final category we graded was short-term care, proved to be this nursing home's least impressive category. We awarded this nursing home a grade of D in this category. This really was one of just a few dings of an otherwise impressive report card. Our short-term care grade is typically used to gauge a nursing home's rehabilitation services. In order to offer high-end rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to offer higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other types of therapists. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we assessed the number of patients that ultimately returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
