Facility Inspections

Grade: B

Although we gave this facility a poor overall score, we awarded it a B for our inspections rating. This was the result of the nursing home receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Perhaps the most important factor we consider in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. It is generally in your best interest to avoid facilities that had a long list of deficiencies. Fortunately, although this nursing home had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This tells you the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Surprisingly, we awarded this nursing home a C for its short-term care rating, which is not too bad of a score. Our short-term care scores are believed to be more meaningful for people needing rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation typically mandates additional highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not only nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, this nursing home was below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the measures we assessed. The final metric we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. Unfortunately, this was below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

We awarded this nursing home a grade of just D for our long-term care score. This is not one of our better scores. Facilities that don't fare well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in a few of the areas of routine personal care we looked at. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination records. This facility vaccinated 93.56223 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best feature in this category.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

The last area we assessed was nursing. This facility received an abysmal grade of F in that category. Our nursing rating includes quite a few subcategories, however, the main one is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This facility averaged just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This statistic is significantly below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing scores. This nursing home fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these data points to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.
