Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. This facility was assessed 11 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were in categories G through L. This means it avoided the more significant classes of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received some government fines in recent years.
Short-term Care Quality
Remarkably, we gave this nursing home a grade of C for its short-term care grade, which isn't too bad of a score. Our short-term care scores are probably most important for residents needing rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation usually mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes not only nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. We found that this place was below average in the two key staffing areas we looked at. In fact, it supplied fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. It is still important to determine whether this also correlates to a lower quality of care. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 4.8 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. Our nursing rating analyzes the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We weigh both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This facility offered just 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident each day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This place fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these datapoints to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to the fourth category, we gave this facility a grade of D for the area of long-term care. This is the nursing home's worst category rating. For residents looking for a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are a key measure. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Thankfully, this facility vaccinated 98.37518 percent of its patients, which is an above average statistic. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
