In addition to being a strong facility overall, this place especially excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned a grade of A. Few nursing homes fared better in that area. Our inspection scores are tied to many items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that score well in this area tend to have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This nursing home was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This means that the inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies an imminent risk to patient health or safety. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.

One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so well is that it was given a dominant short-term care score. Indeed, short-term care turned out to be its second most favorable category score. In that category, we gave this facility a score of A-. Short-term care ratings are critical for prospective residents seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates more highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a wide spectrum of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. This place excelled in the two key staffing areas we looked at. The facility supplied more care from physical therapists and registered nurses than the average nursing home. This is often a great sign. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that it outperformed the majority of facilities in the country with 52.7 percent of its residents returning home.

This facility is also strong in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B+. It outperformed most nursing homes in this category. When calculating a nursing home's nursing grade, we assess the quantity of hours nurses are caring for residents and the level of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home boasts an impressive 3.9 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis, of which more than one hour of those hours were provided by registered nurses. This is among the most highly skilled levels of nurses. Finally, this place also performed well in several of the quality-based metrics we assessed. For example, in terms of the percentage of its residents suffering falls which lead to major injury, this place performed better than the national average. This is often a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

The next category we graded is long-term care, in which this nursing home was given a C. This is this facility's weakest category. This is nevertheless not a major area of concern. If you are seeking anything other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care grades. One of the criteria we considered in addition to this nursing home's strong nursing hours was vaccinations. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccination to 94.77124 percent of its residents. Vaccination is a proven method to minimize negative health outcomes for the elderly population. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 1.58 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes.
