Our inspection scores are based on datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that score well in this category typically have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This place received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This indicates that CMS didn't consider any of these deficiencies to cause an immediate risk to resident safety or health. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.

This nursing home also was awarded a high-end short-term care score. In fact, this turned out to be this nursing home's second best category score. In that area, this facility received a grade of A-. Our short-term care ratings are arguably more meaningful for individuals requiring a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires higher levels of skilled nursing. This means not merely nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.2 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.

After considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 95.652176 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is better than the average nursing home. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

The final area we looked at was nursing. We awarded this nursing home one of our higher grades in that area, with a grade of B. Although this isn't on par with many of its other grades, it is still an excellent grade. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some quality-based measures in this category. This facility fared well in some of the quality measures we assessed. By way of illustration, in terms of the number of its patients suffering from pressure ulcers, this nursing home performed better than the national average.
