Even though we gave this facility a terrible overall score, we gave it a grade of B- for our nursing rating. Our nursing score is based on several subcategories, however, the main consideration is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Although this facility didn't really impress in terms of the quantity of nursing care available, it surprisingly performed admirably in some of our quality measures. In fact, it was above average in two of the major statistics we look at, with good scores for minimizing its patients' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Remarkably, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B- for its short-term care rating, which is not too bad of a score. Short-term care grades are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a wide range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. We found that this place was below average in the two key staffing areas we focus on. It provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. It is still important to determine whether this is adversely impacting the quality of care. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 44.8 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Unfortunately, this nursing home only received a D for its long-term care score, which is not a very good score. If you are seeking services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care scores. One of the statistics we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccines. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 94.17476 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.

In our final category of inspections, this facility received an abysmal grade. For places with poor inspection ratings, you should really scrutinize any severe deficiencies found on their recent inspection reports. This nursing home was hit with 9 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we can say is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they created a threat to patient health or safety. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
